2013/14 Welcome Letter
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Well-wishers:
Welcome to another school year. The mercies of God are with us continually. Let His name be praised. The Bible says, “For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16. The sacrifice God made in giving up His Son so we could have life eternal is a greater sacrifice than that made to set aside a portion of one’s salary as an investment in Christian Education. Yes, consider paying tuition as an investment! Using your child’s tuition to purchase earthly possessions that will pass away is “going back to Egypt.”
Looking around us here in the Downtown Brooklyn area we notice big changes; change in the pricing of housing, change in the qualities of buildings erected, change in the populace, and more changes are coming. In actuality Manhattan has come to Brooklyn. In all these changes how has the process of education here at Bethel Elementary School been affected? The answer comes from the Bible, “Jesus the same yesterday, today, and forever” Heb. 13:8. The principles instilled in the minds of children are those akin to guidelines that have fostered quality citizens since creation. We continue to educate for now and for eternity.
Our faculty and staff are qualified, tested and experienced to educate all those who attend. We are continuing the legacy set by our trailblazers who brought this learning center into existence and established a great school of the prophets. Jacob had a dream that he saw a ladder stretched from earth to heaven on which angels ascended and descended. He declared that place to be inhabited by God and was a gateway from earth to heaven- Genesis 28. He called it Bethel. The Bethel Elementary School was established to be a gateway to heaven and a blessing on earth. Over the 64 years of operation, thousands of students have received a “top notch” education and have gone no to higher institutions of learning where they have distinguished themselves, and are serving in various departments throughout the world.
Our school is following the prescribed curriculum from the North American Department of Education as well as the State of New York. The meaning of Core Curriculum has been a part of our system of education for decades. Succinctly stated, “Bethel Elementary, a Pre-school through grade eight School is a top quality school.” I am happy to be a part of this historical school. All within the confines of this edifice feel that way too.
Sending your child here is not a mistake. God bless.
